Laura's Bio
Hi! My name is Laura, and I’m the secretary of ROYA. I’ve been a ROYA member since 2013 when I attended my first camp at 13 years old. I’m originally from Sacramento, CA, but I am currently attending St. Vladimir’s Theological Seminary in New York, studying for a Master’s in Sacred Arts. I grew up learning to play piano and have always loved the arts in all forms. If you ever want to share music or art you like, I’m up to chat!

Spiri's Bio
My name is Spiridon Amohnoaie; currently aged 23, and I’m on the path to successfully completing my 4th year as a mechanical engineering student at the University of Ottawa. I’ve been actively involved with ROYA – the Romanian Orthodox Youth of America, for the past two years. During this time, I’ve organized numerous activities in collaboration with our Romanian Orthodox Canadian Youth, which has been both rewarding and insightful. As I take on the journey into another fruitful year, I carry with me a clear vision of what I aim to achieve for ROYA. My primary goal is to foster a more unified ROYA across the North, thus enhancing our communal coherence and amplifying our impact. Furthermore, I’m determined to expand our reach, engaging with more young individuals and integrating them into our community. My ultimate vision is to disseminate love and faith more widely. I firmly believe that through these values, we can transform the lives of many more youths, reinforcing the principles of our faith and community in their hearts.

Rares' Bio
ROYA is something that slowly grows on even the most reluctant people. At least that was my experience. I’ve been attending events since 2007 but what made me get involved was the 2015 ROYA Mission trip and now I’m the President of the organization. I’m currently working as an Embedded Systems Engineer and when I’m not being a productive member of society, I like to practice my photography, read and meet new people (yes, I mean you).

Vice President (USA)

Pompiliu's Bio
I am a student in Southern California at UCLA, pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering. My first ever ROYA event was over summer of 2016. But I really started to get more involved with the organization about a year ago. It was and is a big part of my personal growth. There are certain things characteristic of it that I have not found elsewhere. Personal hobbies of mine are hiking/mountain climbing, learning to play the ukelele, and discovering new music.

When I was a student at the University of Toronto I co-founded and helped run the Orthodox Christian Fellowship.

One of my favorite quotes is:

I like working with kids, taking calculated risks, and occasionally being forced to step out of my comfort zone. If you are ever in the Tri-State area stop by St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church in Sunnyside to say hi!
