Episode 10
“What does God want from us? Intellect, feelings, and the heart in the time of Corona”
Pr. Silviu Bunta
- Love as a virtue has no ego but love as an emotion seeks to please the self. The ego is present, even if hidden. We must learn to nurture the death of our egos.
- For Christ to work in us, we must empty ourselves of ourselves; this happens through prayer. We must be aware still of our ego in prayer; pure prayer is wanting nothing from God. “You are everything, and I am in need of everything, for I am nothing.”
- We must strive to let go of ourselves and “lose” our lives. We must acknowledge that Christ is everything and we are nothing. In this way we will be “crushed by God’s love”
- We must acknowledge that we cannot get to heaven alone. We should not believe ourselves to be standing, but rather we are on the ground and needing to be “dragged” by God.
- We did not want to bow down to God, and yet God came and bowed down to us in order to establish His relationship with us.
